With an inverter the volage and frequency (you quoted) are of course important. However you neglected to say the POWER ratings (in watts) of the device or the inverter.
The power rating is the way you ultimately determine the proper size of an inverter.
Different devices also have a different power rating when starting up as opposed to continuously running. Things with a large motor on it are the most common devices which take up to three times their rated power rating when starting up. Inverters list this "startup capacity" as the higher power rating and the continuous power rating is the lower number.
Don't cut corners by getting an inverter that is too close in rating to your device. Leave some headway for startup load and future expansion and possible other devices. I generally don't recommend ever buying one below 300 watts minimum.
Avoid the cheap Chinese made crap. Get a quality brand. Personally I have had best results with Xantrex and Tripp-Lite. I have heard good reports from ones badged as the "Energizer" brand too. Good features to consider are frequency control and under-voltage alarm. If you can afford it, a TRUE SINE WAVE inverter is the very best feature- but these units get very pricey. They are highly preferred for electronic device usage.
